Attorney Hevia-Cockrell is currently an active member of the State Bar of California and practices exclusively Family Law.
Attorney Hevia-Cockrell graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then earned her Juris Doctor Degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 1988.
Attorney Hevia-Cockrell has been practicing family law for over 30 years which has resulted in the representation of over thousands of individuals in various family law matters ranging from a simple separation resolution to a contested divorce including high asset division and competing custody requests.
Throughout her career, Attorney Hevia-Cockrell has obtained the skills necessary to expeditiously maneuver through the court system while effectively representing the best interest of her clients. Further, she possesses the patience and case management skills to provide a strong yet compassionate guidance role in all her cases.
Attorney-Hevia-Cockrell has also sat as a judicial officer in many legal proceedings which allows her the ability to see a matter from the other side of the bench. Attorney Hevia-Cockrell can determine the parts of a case that are necessary for the judicial officer to understand for her clients to get the best possible outcome for their specific set of facts.
